Check of the vehicle originality
The originality inspection of a vehicle is a process that involves measurement and non-destructive examination to detect signs of unauthorized alterations to the vehicle's identifiers, structure, or documents.
During the originality inspection, vehicle identifiers such as the VIN and other markings, as well as components that confirm the vehicle's identity according to its documents, are verified for their originality and authenticity. Additionally, data from relevant information systems are evaluated.
The purpose of the originality inspection is to verify whether the vehicle is suitable for road use. The results of this inspection are recorded in the information system and the Expert Report on Originality Inspection.
What documents are required for the originality inspection?
The documents required for the originality inspection are specified in Decree No. 139/2018 of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic, §36:
(1) In addition to the identity card, the vehicle operator or driver must submit the following documents for the originality inspection, if applicable:
Vehicle registered in the vehicle registry in the Slovak Republic
- certificate of registration part I and certificate of registration part II, if issued, or a document on reporting the loss or theft of a certificate issued by an authority of the Police Force, or a document on the retention of a certificate issued by an authority of the Police Force; in the case of a document on the report of loss or theft or a document on the seizure of the Part II registration certificate, an up-to-date copy or replacement of the Part II registration certificate bearing the imprint of the stamp of the Police Force authority is also submitted
- proof of acquisition of the vehicle body or vehicle frame, which is presented when replacing the vehicle body or vehicle frame
- proof of mass conversion of the vehicle type according to § 34 par. 11 letters b) and c) of the Act, which is submitted if it is a vehicle on which a mass conversion of the vehicle type is carried out
- the decision on the permit for the conversion of an individual vehicle, which is submitted if it is a conversion of an individual vehicle
An individually imported vehicle that is registered in the vehicle registry
An individually imported vehicle that is not registered in the vehicle registry and has a technical vehicle certificate issued
An individually imported vehicle that is not registered in the vehicle registry
A vehicle removed from the vehicle register before re-approval for operation in road traffic according to § 30 of the Act
Additional approved vehicle according to § 31 of the Act
A vehicle that is not subject to registration in the vehicle registry
